About Us

The Innovators Awards program was established by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to nurture innovation in combating substance abuse, the nation's number one health problem. Each year the program recognizes five of the nation's leading lights in substance abuse control with $300,000 awards. The program is headquartered at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, where innovation in science and health is a way of life.

At this website, you will meet the Innovators, who include many of our nation's leading scientists, policy leaders, and communicators. You will discover startling facts about addiction and see what addiction looks like from the perspective of a neuroscientist and an artist. You will access links to leading addiction organizations and download a range of substance abuse resources.
